A very well executed female nude, posed seated in rear aspect and drawn in pencil highlighted in red pencil. Portrayed seated, the artist illustrates his subject's well toned body flatteringly, her long dark hair loosely tied and tumbling down her back. She sits up very straight with one leg drawn to her body, her arms crossed over it and a hint of her left breast is visible.

The artist has signed in the lower left corner "Lewis Davies 2003'

The drawing is supplied unframed within a pale mount and is in very good condition.

Lewis Davis was a prolific artist and "inspirational" teacher of art who died in 2010 at the age of 71. His most acclaimed work was the 52 paintings which illustrated scenes from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - he was inspired by the Ancient Mariner because it was full of imagery and he was able to illustrate every verse.

Originally from Waltham Forest, Lewis retired to Cromer in Norfolk seven years before his death and continued to paint every day being inspired by the countryside and churches of the area. He also decorated one of the Go Elephants exhibited in Norwich during the summer of 2008 with scenes from The Ancient Mariner and this subsequently achieved £3,800 when auctioned for charity.

A very rare original colour pencil drawing by Karen Middleton, in her early years Karen's website (http://www.karenmiddletonillustration.co.uk/)

This item for sale and shown in the pictures, is the original pencil drawing by the Artist Karen Middleton, of Nigel Mansell and his Indy Champ Car in his Championship winning year of 1993. This is the second of a pair of drawing Karen undertook, the first was a portrait of Nigel Mansell and his 1992 F1 winning Williams Renault (not included). Karen Middleton sold thousands of prints throught the 90's, of the 1992 F1 drawing, but never printed the 1993 Kart series drawing which i bought in 1994.

The new owner of the drawing will also own full copyright, and can reproduce prints for retail purposes.

The original drawing is framed in oak and anti UV glass measuring 20 x 16 inches. The drawing measures 14 x 10 inches, and is mounted in a double backed border.

The item will be posted, 2nd class recorded, once payment has cleared.

All refund are within 7 days of reciept of the goods. Any postage claims, are to be undertaken by the purchaser, as per the Post Office guidelines.
