Ian was born in London, where he lived for many years before relocating to Milton Keynes (the home of concrete cows, man made lakes & roundabouts!) It's an incredibly green, calm & relaxing place, ideal for an artist to expand, experiment and refine their skills.

A self taught artist with over 12 years painting & graphics experience, he is primarily a figurative painter with a fascination for the female form and the abnormal characteristics of comic book characters.

Painting with oils and acrylics (often together) on canvas, hardboard, glass & canvas boards, he has developed his 3 main series: Aspects of Milton Keynes; Eye Candy & Through the Keyhole. Paintings from all 3 series have sold Worldwide and new paintings from these series will start to be offered on eBay, for the first time, shortly.

About the Artist The Guardian writes that Johnstone's work may signal "a wind of change blowing through the art world" (fifth item). An art manifesto he co-wrote appeared in a 2011 Penguin Book of Modern Classics. Johnstone's art is collected internationally. A book (Stuck Near Tate Modern) exclusively of his, and his wifes art is in the Tate Gallery Library, and Archive.
