SUBJECT: Superb study of an artist painting on the banks of a river or lake, very humourously entitled by the artist 'MOSQUITO BAIT EPPING FOREST' this is a very large work by listed British Artist CLAUDE PRYOR, it measures 53" x 43" in its frame and 50" x 40" unframed. Technically I think this artist is excellent, I have several of his works which I was not going to list but due to the response of 2 that were listed last week we have decided to offer them for auction for 5 days only, all with realistic start for the quality of the work all without reserve. Good use of paint to give a depth to the piece. , due to the size of this work we have priced P&P a bit higher than it should work out as we will not be able to weigh it correctly until wrapped, any over charge on P&P will be refunded, if it costs more (UK only) we will cover it. Approximately 24 x 24 inches (61 x 61 cms)

A good portrayal of an English vegetable patch/allotment. The artist has not completed the lower right corner of the painting.

Supplied unsigned on board and in very good condition

Lewis Davis was a prolific artist and "inspirational" teacher of art who died in 2010 at the age of 71. His most acclaimed work was the 52 paintings which illustrated scenes from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - he was inspired by the Ancient Mariner because it was full of imagery and he was able to illustrate every verse.

Originally from Waltham Forest, Lewis retired to Cromer in Norfolk seven years before his death and continued to paint every day being inspired by the countryside and churches of the area. He also decorated one of the Go Elephants exhibited in Norwich during the summer of 2008 with scenes from The Ancient Mariner and this subsequently achieved £3,800 when auctioned for charity.

Framed Original Oil On Board Painting Wall Art Landscape Trees Modern 60s Gilt

A really fabulous original European oil on board painting of a landscape in a beautiful antique style / repro gilt frame. The picture is signed in the bottom right hand corner and on the back of the picture is the writing 'Painted by Y. Lines 1968'. There is also some other writing above this that I cannot quite make out. Perhaps the name of a place but it does not seem to be an English name.The frame also has a sticker saying 'Made in Belgum' on the back.

The board is slightly loose in the frame so could do with fresh tape.

Size including frame: 43.8cm x 53.5cm / 17.5in x 21.2in

If you are an international buyer, please contact me for shipping costs becasue this will be a shade over 2.100kg when packed which I think nudges it up into a much higher price bracket, but if you are interested, I can double check for you.

Condition of all the portraits are good, some with minor marks that I will endeavour to detail as accurately as possible in each listing. I have not researched any of the sitters as this would take a long time and may become an obsession, so I will leave that to the purchaser. All date around the mid twentieth century.

This work is painted in oil on 2mm thick board. The painting and board are in good condition. There is a small area of paint loss at the bottom of the board and the top corners are a little bit scruffy; these pointers would not show when framed. There is also very minor shape to the board and it would benefit from a light clean. Total size 33.5cm x 38cm. Signed Waldron West bottom right. Also there are two photos verso arranged together to show a room and dinning table, illustrated in the additional photos.

her head. There is a definite message in this work regarding the enviroment, excellent work.
