The painting is of Rochester in Kent around the ME 4 postcode area, it’s by the artist AJ Peachey and is dated 1974

The detail is this work is amazing and the artist has managed to capture the 1970’s life of people simply going about their day in the bottom corner someone is waving up towards the artist….Was that you?, Is that your house?, Your Mini car?

There is so much going on in this picture that every time I look at it I see something else…..

There are labels on the reverse stating that it was sold for £400 some time ago and that it’s been professionally cleaned in 1989. Other than that I do not know anything about where it’s been in its life or who has adored it but now its time for someone else to have the enjoyment of this stunning picture.

Size 108cms x 78cms Measurements are approximate

The frame is in Good condition and as for the painting I would not know if it needs cleaning or what condition it’s in sorry not my area…..

·         POOR – 2/10 (repairs are a certainty and condition will not be high on the list of importance with these items as these items will be in high demand due to rarity and any condition will be considered)

·         FAIR – 4/10 (Been used well and showing signs of its age will more than likely need  repairs and some work to be able to use again)

·         GOOD – 6/10 (Has some noticeable wear and tear but can still be used and might need some small repairs)

·         VERY GOOD – 8/10 ( Little wear and tear is clearly used but has been looked after)

·         EXCELLENT – 10/10 (Close to new condition only a very little wear and tear)

Please understand that we are grading a huge amount of different items and as such we might not look for certain things on certain products due to some lack of product knowledge and it’s VERY IMPORTANT that you Email us with any questions.

27"  wide 31" high the colours really pop out of the painting.

It is signed K Curtis 01. I have tried doing some research on the artist but to no avail.

It has been carefully framed.

Condition............Unrestored & in original condition. There are two minute holes (one in the

large tree & one in the sky) that could easily be repaired. This painting would obviously benefit from a surface clean. 

Signed.................Signed by the Artist and signed and dated 1873 on the reverse.

Frame.................Original, very simple gilt wooden frame.

Medium..............Oil on Canvas.

BEAUTIFUL EARLY PAINTING LOWRY WAS A CLOSE OBSERVER OF CHILDREN AND MANY OF HIS WORKS CELEBRATE THEIR APPARENT INNOCENCE AND SENSE OF FUN.

SHELLEY ROHDE BELIEVED THAT CHILDREN 'MANIPULATING THEIR PARENTS AND EACHOTHER' WAS ONE OF LOWRY'S FAVOURITE SUBJECTS- SOMETIMES IF HE WAS IN AN ESPECIALLY GOOD MOOD,HAVING SEEN SOMETHING THAT REALLY APPEALED TO HIM (LIKE ONE BOY KICKING ANOTHER OR A MOTHER TELLING OFF HER CHILD,HE WOULD DROP A PENNY OR TWO AS HE PASSED AND PRETEND HE DIDNT NOTICE THE KIDS RUSHING TO PICK THEM UP.AFTER A WHILE THE LOCAL CHILDREN GOT TO KNOW HIS WAYS. THEY WOULD FOLLOW HIM ON HIS ROUNDS, ALMOST AS IF HE WERE THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN,IN THE HOPE HE MIGHT DROP THE OCCASIONAL COPPER.

This looks like about 1930's or later to me. Painted on a chamferred wood panel and in a rather nice ornate gilt frame - the frame with some minor damage as is evident on my photo's.

Attractive landscape which requires no work - the picture is quite clean.

This is an original oil painting on canvas signed T. Wren

and dated 1919. It depicts a street of houses, and measures

20 inches by 14 inches. It is unframed and has some damage
