The painting is dated 1905. A superbly detailed picture of highland cattle against a picturesque landscape. I have done by best to capture the detail of the painting by photographing through a magnifying eyeglass, but the pictures do not quite do the skill and detail perfect justice. Original painting, well over 100 years old now. Some slight foxing in the sky area and some fading in the top right hand corner. Other paintings of his have gone at auction for well over £1000. An investment for the future?

In original frames with labels verso.

Measuring approximately 22.25" by 14.5", the paintings themselves are 15.25" by 8".

Both signed lower left with signature & monogram, I would put them to late Victorian era, 1895.

Entitled "Cliffs near Padstow, Cornwall" & "Near Bedruthen, North Cornwall".

Condition for the age is just amazing,no foxing, fading etc.

The frames had one or two minor dings which I have had restored.

A really stunning pair of antique Victorian watercolours by an artist in his prime years.

Titled at lower right “Bournemouth Durley Chine Looking West to Haven & Purbeck Hills” and signed and dated by monogram “AB 1903”. An interesting view showing Bournemouth how it was before the development to the West Cliff and Sandbanks. Watercolour on Winsor & Newton art board, nicely showing the oval retailers handstamp “H.J. Atkins & Son 170 Old Christchurch Road/The Bournemouth Fine Art Depot”. to the reverse. A very well executed piece of work, the titling suggests that it could possibly have been used for a book illustration or postcard?

Description:A fine coastal scene, watercolour on artist's paper, signed , and dated 1904 and framed - approx 16 X 20 inches (40.64 X 50.8cm).This is a fine Irish Impressionist watercolour dating from the Edwardian period. The coastal scene depicts a beautiful view of the calm waters of Glengarrif Harbour in County Cork, Southern Ireland. Glengarriff is a small seaside village positioned on sheltered Bantry Bay surrounded by high rugged mountains pocked with old bogs being farmed for peat. Lying in the quite waters is the island of Ilnacullin (or Garnish Island) which can be seen on the left of the composition. Sail boats and dinghys are moored in the expanse of water with the dense woodland and hills rising above. The work is titled "Sunset, Glengariff". Date:1904 Artist Biography: Nora (Strange) Butson (British active 1891 - 1911) - Irish painter known for Portraits, miniatures in oils and water colours. Other works include views of Ireland. - Died in Ireland in 1911. Framing:Contemporary classic scroll and floral moulded Gesso work. Finish: Gilt.The watercolour is mounted on board and has a gilt mount. Condition:The painting retains good colour for its age. This listing is for an original water colour painting by Sue Scott, a Suffolk-based equestrian artist with a particular interest in the Suffolk Punch. She was an Associate of the Society of Equestrian Artists.This picture illustrates a rural scene which I believe is typical of work by Sue Scott. It has been sympathetically framed. The frame measures approximately 480 mm by 370 mm and the painting approximately 275 mm by 170 mm.I am preparing for the time in the not so distant future when I will need to downsize. Unfortunately this means a reduction in wall space. Description:An excellent sporting scene watercolour on artist's paper, signed "Alken" and dating circa 19th Century. Framed - approx 14 X 17 inches (35.56 X 43.18cm).This is an excellent English School watercolour dating from the 19th Century period. The sporting scene depicts a fabulous antique 19th Century original watercolour and bodycolour study of cock-fighting. A crowd of men of all walks of life gather around the ring to watch the two roosters fight to the death. The umpire stands poised to witness the proceedings as the birds fight to the death. The work is signed "Alken" to the lower left although we cannot verify whether this was actually by one of the family of artists.The work is signed "Alken" lower left. Date:The watercolour probably dates to around 19th Century. Artist Biography: The Alken Family: English family of artists of Danish descent. The earliest member active in England was Sefferien Alken (1717-82), who was a wood-carver, gilder and stone-carver employed by William Chambers. His son Samuel Alken was an engraver. Four of Samuel Alken’s sons, Samuel Alken (1784-c. 1825), Henry Thomas Alken, George Alken (c. 1794-1837) and Sefferien John Alken (1796-1857), were sporting artists. In the next generation Henry Alken’s sons Samuel Henry (Gordon) Alken (1810-94, known as Henry Alken, Jr.) and Sefferien Alken (1821-73) were also artists.Henry Thomas Alken (12 October 1785 - 7 April 1851) was an English painter and engraver chiefly known as a caricaturist and illustrator of sporting subjects and coaching scenes. Framed - approx 15 X 19 inches (38.1 X 48.26cm).This is a fine English Impressionist watercolour dating from the Victorian period. The figural landscape depicts a classic late 19th Century Victorian period impressionist study of the rolling English landscape, possibly of the Wiltshire countryside as there is an old picture framer's sticker, verso, from Devises. The sun casts shadows across the green meadows, sheep quietly grazing to th foreground. Mature oak trees flank the scene leading the eye to the dense woodland and rolling hills folding out before the viewer.The work is signed "? Jackson" lower right. Lewis Davis was a prolific artist and "inspirational" teacher of art who died in 2010 at the age of 71. His most acclaimed work was the 52 paintings which illustrated scenes from Samuel Taylor Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner - he was inspired by the Ancient Mariner because it was full of imagery and he was able to illustrate every verse.

Originally from Waltham Forest, Lewis retired to Cromer in Norfolk seven years before his death and continued to paint every day being inspired by the countryside and churches of the area. He also decorated one of the Go Elephants exhibited in Norwich during the summer of 2008 with scenes from The Ancient Mariner and this subsequently achieved £3,800 when auctioned for charity.

St. Andrew’s Church stands on its own in a remote location surrounded by fields with the only access by car is along a narrow windy lane. It was built round about the 15th century and has quite a large tower compared to the size of the nave and chancel.

This is a lovely portrayal of this ecclesiastical subject in pen/ink wash supplied unframed and in very good condition.

Description: Open to offers is a very large and impressive antique watercolour painting of a Valley Scene with Farmhouse and Cattle by a River with Ducks. The painting is by the listed and collected British artist Arthur Netherwood 1864 - 1930. It is signed lower left 'A. Netherwood', there is no date or title on the work. Many of his paintings were of the Welsh Boarders, there is a distinctive hill in the distance, so maybe someone will recognize the location. It is framed and mounted behind glass in a newer gold painted frame. Please note this has been difficult to photograph because of the glass. Offered here is the second of 2 wonderful paintings I am offering which are after Sir Edwin Landseer.

This is a copy of his Original painting from 1831 which is in The Tate Gallery.

This features a Landseer Breed , which is a Black and white Newfoundland called Bob.

This dog was found in a shipwreck off the English coast , and the dog found its way to a London waterfront where he became known for saving people from drowning. He saved 24 people over 14 years.

For these feats he was made a distinguished member of the humane society, who granted him a medal and food .

The painting is very well executed and the paper including the border measures 22 inch x 15 inches , and the actual painting measures 15 inches x 11.25 inches. It is in good condition with light creasing in vertical lines. This will be delivered in a protective tube.

It is titled A Distinguished member of the Humane Society.

It is full of character and very well executed I have also shown a photo of the other picture I am offering . If you buy both the second one will be with free postage.

Cowan Dobson was born in 1894, he was Scottish and his pictures make many thousands of pounds. I am unsure who painted this but can say it is very well executed and it is signed C Dobson.

Patti Pearce 1941-2011

Patti Pearce studied at Winchester School of Art for 4 years before, aged 21, setting off for Kenya, where she spent 7 years teaching art, also exhibiting her own work in Nairobi. Returning to the UK, she continued teaching in Buckingham at the Royal Latin School where she was highly regarded by her students, until taking early retirement in 1997 to concentrate on freelance illustration work.

Commissions were mostly botanical and wildlife subjects, but varied from a beer bottle label, to product packaging, book illustration and greetings cards.

Keen to enjoy the freedom to paint again, on retiring Patti moved to Fakenham where North Norfolk’s unspoilt coastline and countryside provided constant inspiration. Although working predominantly in acrylics on canvas, she also enjoyed using colour pencil and oil pastel when her inner illustrator needed to get down to some “nitty gritty detail”. She had a passion for weathered old boats and shared an affinity with trees – an old beech wood having provided her childhood playground.

On offer here is a wonderful watercolour guilt framed painting dating from the 19th century.

Here we have a lovely watercolour painting. The scenes depicts a very classic coast/seascape showing a group of fishermen mooring a small boat. The painteing is signed Helga Von Cramm. A lovely piece.

Offered here is the THIRD of 3 Signed Original Watercolor Paintings that I am offering from the film SNOW WHITE and THE SEVEN DWARFS .

This is a SUPERB ORIGINAL 1947 SNOW WHITE & THE 7 DWARFS VINTAGE WATERCOLOUR of DOPEY .

This shows DOPEY stuck up a tree , his belt has hooped around a branch , and his hat is stranded further up the tree.There are 3 little birds looking on with intrigue trying to get the best view from the end of the branch.

The detail is fabulous showing the darning and patches on his tunic and trousers , and the artist has captured the atmosphere and expression perfectly . Dopeys huge ears and expression cheer you up on viewing this piece.

This is signed by the artist Lester Atack and dates to circa 1947 .

The detail is fabulous and even though this is over 60 years old the colours are still strong and vibrant.

There are examples from this artist in the National Collection and one of his paintings is in the permanent collection of the Royal Cornwall Hospital .

He was born in 1900 and died in 1977.

The piece measures 12.75 inches x 10.5 inches .

The film was made in 1937 by WALT DISNEY and the original story was German and was written by The Brothers Grimm.

This would make a wonderful present for anyone interested in DISNEYANA.

Offered here is one of 3 Signed Original Watercolor Paintings that I am offering.

This is a SUPERB ORIGINAL 1947 SNOW WHITE & THE 7 DWARFS VINTAGE WATERCOLOUR .

This shows Snow White teaching the dwarves how to paint.

The chalkboard or blackboard has sketches which Snow White has drawn, these include a house , a still life of flowers , fruit and others and her students have painted these pictures for her.

Each of the dwarfs have painted their own pictures and are proudly , but apprehensively showing these to her .

This is signed by the artist Lester Atack 47 ( for 1947).

The expressions on all of the dwarfs faces have been captured perfectly.

The detail is fabulous and even though this is over 60 years old the colours are still strong and vibrant.

Description: For sale is a original antique postcard sized watercolour painting on paper of 'The Landing Of Queen Alexandra At The Royal Terrace Pier, Gravesend, March 1863' painted by the listed British artist Henry Branston Freer (fl.1870 - 1900). The painting shows a masted paddle steamship with a banner of flags flown along the masts, with another similar vessel partly visible to the right and many other smaller vessels and boats in the foreground and distance. Is signed lower right in pencil 'H. B. Freer' and is fully inscribed and dated across the lower part of the picture. I am not sure if this is a very early work by Freer or a retrospective image as the date 1863 appears a little early for the artist, I am also unable to find references to the ship, though full provenance as to the painting being by the artist can be supplied. It is framed behind glass with a double mount in slim gold coloured frame. This is a genuine and authentic painting by Henry Branston Freer. There is a condition report below. Artist: William Stephen Tomkin, British, 1861-1940. A marine and landscape painter. Tomkin initially worked as a draughtsman for General Pitt Rivers, who was Inspector of Ancient Monuments, and illustrated two books for him. He was a highly proficient watercolour painter with his marine subjects and exhibited "Wind Against Tide" at the Royal Academy in 1909.

Condition: The painting is in a good clean condition. The frame has a few small chips to the gold colouring, an area of missing beading to the top left side, and some small chips at the corners.
